Lavender Essential Oil is a classic and highly versatile essential oil, steam distilled from the flowering tips of Lavandula angustifolia, sourced from the lavender fields of France. Known for its soft floral aroma with fresh, sweet, and slightly fruity notes, it remains one of the most popular oils in aromatherapy, perfumery, and skincare.
Lavender has been used since antiquity for its calming and therapeutic properties. In ancient Greece, Rome, Egypt, and China, it was applied in medicine, personal care, and hygiene rituals. Its essential oil continues to be used to help soothe minor cuts, bruises, burns, and skin conditions like eczema, dermatitis, rheumatism, and even respiratory concerns such as asthma.
In aromatherapy, Lavender Essential Oil is widely appreciated for its ability to ease stress, anxiety, fatigue, and mild depression. It is also used to promote restful sleep, emotional balance, and overall wellbeing.
This essential oil can be applied topically when diluted with a carrier oil such as sweet almond, grapeseed, jojoba, or avocado oil. It is also ideal for use in diffusers, oil burners, vapourisers, or added to bath water for a soothing experience.

10 Ways to Use Essential Oils
1. Aromatherapy Diffuser
Add 2–8 drops to an ultrasonic diffuser to disperse scent and improve mood.
2. Surface Cleaner
Mix lemon tea tree oil with water and vinegar in a spray bottle for a natural disinfectant.
Dilute with jojoba carrier oil for direct skin application to treat spots or use as perfume.
4. Dryer Balls/Laundry
Put 2–3 drops on wool dryer balls to scent clothes naturally, or add to homemade laundry powder.
6. Steamy Shower/Bath
Add a few drops to shower walls or in bath salts to create a spa-like, relaxing atmosphere.
5. Room/Yoga Mat Spray
Mix water, a small amount of rubbing alcohol (as an emulsifier), and oils in a spray bottle.
7. Passive Diffusion
Apply drops to cotton balls and place in gym bags, trash cans, or cupboards to eliminate odors.
8. In Your Bath
Dilute 5–20 drops of essential oil in 1 tablespoon of a carrier oil (like jojoba, coconut, or almond) to prevent skin irritation. Add this mixture to your bathwater after the tub is filled, and stir well just before entering to maximize benefits.
9. In your Shower
To use essential oils in the shower for a spa-like experience, add 5–15 drops to a damp washcloth, a shower steamer, or directly onto the shower floor away from the drain, allowing the heat to create aromatic steam. Popular, safe options include lavender for relaxation, eucalyptus for congestion, or bergamot oils for energy.
10. Natural Repellent
To create a natural essential oil spray, combine 20-30 drops of essential oil with 2 tablespoons of rubbing alcohol (to emulsify the oils) and fill the rest of a 4oz glass bottle with distilled water. Shake well before each use to refresh rooms, fabrics, or linens naturally. Most used oils are Citronella and Peppermint.
